ONE CONNECTION AT A TIME

A gentle place to begin.

You don’t need every answer. Follow the pieces you have, and leave room for the story to grow.

01
START WITH A NAME

Someone you know is enough.

Sign in, choose Start my story, and enter one person’s name. Dates, a photograph and a memory are optional. Choose Plant my tree when you’re ready.

A good first step: start with yourself or a relative you remember well.

02
MAKE A CONNECTION

Let the family grow around them.

Open Add relative and choose the relationship. Add what you know, save, and use the tree or the people list to find that person again.

You can return to a person’s story and add the little details later.

03
KEEP A MEMORY OR SOURCE

Bring a little piece of the story.

Add a photograph, write a memory or save an excerpt from a family letter or record. Keep its title and citation so you can return to where the words came from.

Only add material you have permission to use. An upload is not automatic text extraction.

04
READ, COMPARE, DECIDE

Take a careful look before a change.

Compare the original source wording with saved details. Edit a fact yourself, or review and confirm a supported proposal. Source saving and AI sharing are separate decisions.

Check an uncertain save before repeating it. Use Undo for supported tree changes.

A LITTLE CURIOSITY. A LIFETIME OF CONNECTIONS.
